“If you want to make a point then get on it” a poem (sonnet)

If you want to make point then get on it
Greats agree the best form is a sonnet
Long enough to leave listener sated
Its constraints divine, not too truncated
A Lentini invention gone viral
Brought into English through Milton et al
ten syllables per line hence restricted
still a powerful tool thus constricted

Geniuses with thick words at the ready
Keats and Frost and Christina Rossetti
and others shared truth, a peek in their minds
changing our view in fourteen little lines
Where they use many words I would use few
In fact just three would suffice, I love you
