“Looking” a poem

Eye-cornered, furtive shadow glimpses;
wisps occasioned to approximate form;
half-lit de javu of a story not yet told;
sharing my footsteps on a quest for tomorrow.

Inward trudging, mind-field tip-toeing;
look-longing glances, recognition hopes high;
Over-eye shoulder casts, no bounty shown;
dancing my thought prints of yesterday gone

Stalking perception, flashes taunting memories;
the beast, the phantom, opera with an audience of one;
warrior, wanderer, lover, king, a master of disguises;
calculating my own design, I gather the mists of today.

Shred, tear, spin and shine a bright light,
some now time, some here place, I will find the me inside.
