“Songbird” a poem

I hear you as the sky brightens
tickling my ears with your sweet song
With closed eyes I see you clearly
wrapped in your aural embrace

The melody is familiar
twist of an age-old theme
heard for the first time
a tune of my making

The stories you share
sparkle my windswept being
revealing what I know
and what I will never know

Don't fly too far little bird
Your silence is a vacuum
your voice is bliss
envelop me
